Gary P. Zeosky, Owner, Senior Magic Planner
I am the proud owner of Vacation with the Magic, an Authorized Disney Vacation Planner is an agency that specializes in assisting guests with disabilities in planning their Disney vacation. I am a qualified individual with disabilities as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA). Our mission is to ensure that all disabled and special needs guests that we assist in planning a Disney vacation, enjoy the magic that is Disney.
I adopted Tasha (1) in 1998 and then Tasha 2.0 in 2009 to enhance our lives after my own disabilities and those of Gordon LaGrow, my business partner, best friend and roommate, who has cognitive, mobility, hearing and visual impairments, required the assistance of a service dog as suggested by our doctor.
Both dogs were trained for obedience by AKC trainers and both passed and received their AKC Star Puppy and AKC Canine Good Citizen certifications. Both dogs also have received considerable lifetime training as service and therapy dogs. As Ambassadors and mascots for Vacation with the Magic, we have found that our service dogs, whether in person or by virtual presence, relax our clients in dealing with the sensitive issue of talking about their required special accommodation needs to ensure equal access to the magic of Disney.
Our accessible web site has accommodated our disabled and special needs guests, by providing them the ability to interact online in a private chat with “Tasha” or by completing an online, secured, detailed disability checklist to assist our Independent Travel Agents in the planning their Disney vacation.
All About Tasha (1) and Tasha 2.0 as told by Tasha 2.0
All About Tasha (1) 1998 – 2009
Grand-Daughter of Ch. Silverhall Soldier Of Fortune, a buff American Cocker Spaniel, a.k.a.Toys Tasha Yar, was born on New Year’s Day, 1998 in Braintree, Massachusetts. She was brought into our family as a trained service animal and companion for my dads, Gary Zeosky and Gordon LaGrow. Tasha did her job extremely well and was loved by everyone she met. Tasha was eventually trained in 19 different tasks and helped Gary, and especially Gordon in his daily life in so many ways, including saving Gordon from personal injury by alerting Gordon to his oncoming seizures, low or high blood sugars and grounding him during periods of PTSD and his bouts of being Bipolar. As a service animal Tasha was welcomed everywhere she went, Including all Disney resorts, parks and cruise line. Bringing both Gary and Gordon to their happy place.
My dads worshiped Tasha, and she worshiped them. She always made everyone she met smile. She loved everyone and everything she owned, especially her family and her “kittie” Mickey. Tasha loved to go shopping! When selecting a new toy, one of her dads had to hold it up so she could sniff, she would either grab the item or pushed it away. Based on her response they would buy it for her. (this was fun for us too!)
Tasha was a fun, outgoing American Cocker Spaniel, she was extremely well behaved earning her AKC certifications and always wanted to please everyone she met. Yet if she was “working” she would only focus on my dads, it was only with their permission that she would be told “release” and at that point she would wiggle her tail as she met new people. (I’m still working on this, it is so hard!)
As a service animal Tasha was able to travel all over the world, on airlines, cruises, hotels and even railroads. Having her own passport she always carried her necessary paper work along with the required health certificates, she was never denied access. She loved to travel, she was always by their side, giving them the comfort to continue to explore our world feeling secure that they had someone to watch over them.
Her favorite destination was always Disney. No matter if she was visiting Disneyland®, Walt Disney World® or sailing on the Disney Cruise Line®, Tasha was always at home. She loved meeting all of the Disney characters, her favorite was of course Pluto. To honor her memory and my dad’s passion for anything Disney, this site and business was built from her love.
Toys Tasha Yar crossed the Rainbow Bridge on October 23rd, 2009. She left a huge hole in their hearts that I’m hoping to fill.
All About Tasha 2.0 – Service Dog Details For ID#: 1321584619
I’m Tasha 2.0 I’m not an upgrade, (you can’t upgrade perfection) I’m a new version!. Hey if Microsoft can do it why can’t we? I was born on September 27th, 2009, but did not meet my new family until November 28th, 2009, just four weeks after dad’s beloved Tasha crossed the rainbow bridge. My dads had already planned on adding me to their family before loosing Tasha, so when I came into their life, they wanted to honor Tasha’s memory by naming name me Tasha 2.0.
I’ve also completed my AKC S.T.A.R. PUPPY certificate with flying colors and I have completed my training for the AKC Canine Good Citizen Certification. Just like my sister, I have also taken therapy dog courses so that I can bring comfort to Gary and Gordon. I have big paws to fill and I’m doing my very best to help take care of my dads.
I will be in training as a service animal and companion for both Gary and Gordon for the entire time I am with them. I already assist by fetching water or meds as needed, alerting to seizures, alerting for high and low blood sugars for their diabetes, I can calm, comfort and ground both of my dads for PTSD and bipolar.
Vacation planning for guests with disabilities and special needs.
Travel is challenging even if you have no disability or impairment, no one can guarantee that your vacation will be the kind we all hope for, but doing your homework will help prevent having the one we all fear.
Taking a vacation to Walt Disney World® Resort, Disneyland® Resort, Aulani, a Disney Resort & Spa, an Adventures by Disney™ or on a Disney Cruise Line® ship, is considered one of the classic trips for families with children. Families who are traveling with a person with disabilities or limitations will find that there are accommodations available that can make the trip memorable for the entire family. Having experienced Disney first hand as a person with multiple disabilities including cognitive, hearing, visual and mobility, and having a service dog along, provides the strong foundation needed to specialize in planning Disney vacations for guests with disabilities and special needs.
As Disney creates new attractions, enhance existing ones, or build new cruise ships, careful consideration is given to providing appropriate access so that all Guests can enjoy the Disney experience. From handheld captioning, accessible-ride vehicles or sloped-entry swimming pools, Disney Imagineers and engineers challenge themselves to create as many accessible experiences everyone can enjoy. Having a disability or limitation is no barrier to enjoy the magic of Disney.
